I was working for an international aid agency at the time and was going to Calcutta. I asked my staff to arrange a meeting with Mother Teresa.
She blew me away when she came out. A tiny figure but full of presence.
We chatted one on one for about half an hour and I nervously asked if I could take a photograph. She said yes of course. My film camera had been sitting in an air conditioned hotel, which reulted in misty lenses as soon as they met the Calcutta heat.
The result is a blurry picture of an amazing woman, yet the blurring provides a lovely halo effect.
She signed my Bible and sent me off to visit her homes. That experience had a profound
effect on me and still does to this day.
